Craft calendarHard edges, clean angles, and nothing fussy. Geometric designs are the most forgiving thing you can put on a cutting mat, which makes them a good place to start if you are still getting a feel for your machine.
Working with Geometric SVG designs
- They weed fast
- Straight lines have no thin tendrils to lift by accident, so even a large geometric decal usually comes off the backing in one or two pieces instead of twenty.
- They hold up small
- Because the shapes are bold, a geometric design still reads clearly at two or three inches, where a detailed illustration would turn to mush.
- Watch the sharp points
- Very acute angles, under roughly 20 degrees, can lift at the tip on vinyl. If you see curling, round the point slightly or size the design up half an inch.
